Socio-Economic Impact of Violence Against Women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan

This research examines the underlying causes, patterns, and impact of gender-based violence in the region. Utilizing a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, the study explores factors such as cultural norms, patriarchal structures, lack of legal enforcement, and socioeconomic challenges that contribute to the vulnerability of women. Data was collected through interviews case studies in the reports from local organizations working on women’s rights. The findings highlight the prevalence of domestic violence, honor killings, forced marriages, and other forms of abuse. The research emphasizes the need for stronger legal frameworks, enhanced social awareness, and support systems to protect women’s rights in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Recommendations are provided for policy makers, civil society organizations, and stakeholders to collaborate in creating a safer environment for women in the province.
